Charles Frederick Kandler is a highly important and influential Silversmith – one of the ‘All time greats’

Very little is known about Kandler’s early history,  it is thought he arrived in London from his native Dresden in 1727, he is believed to be the younger brother of the highly important Meissen Master  porcelain modeller Joachim Kandler, who used the same high rococo style in his product designs.

Kandler’s most famous piece is the great wine cooler in the Hermitage, St Petersburg, Russia.
