The Dishes are formed as Scallop Shells with a cast scroll end. Each stands on two periwinkle shell feet, and all shells are engraved with a contemporary Crest, this being the Crest of John Trotter (1757 – 1833). 14cm (5.5 inches) wide, 657grms (21oz). Provenance: John Trotter (1757-1833) of Dyram Park, Hertfordshire. Thence by direct family decent. Shell Dishes are extremely rare by Paul Storr and are seldom seen on the market.
