A Substantial Victorian Silver Mounted Claret Jug

The glass body is of plain bulbous form with a star cut decoration to the base. The high silver collar supporting a flat hinged lid with a pierced raised thumb piece. The scrolling and straight handle is attached with acanthus leaf mounting at the top and a second silver collar around the waisted lower neck.
