An exceptionally rare Victorian novelty silver mounted glass Pheasant claret jug of small size, the hinged head with curved, three toed thumbpiece and toothed lower edge, on a clear blown glass body with wrythen fluted moulded neck and clear ‘wing’ handles, 5 1/4in. (13.5cm.) long. * Condition: Marks partially rubbed but legible. Tiny ding to edge of crest above beak. Silver otherwise good, with no other damage or repairs. Small white spot inclusion to left ‘wing’ No cracks or chips to glass.
