Having a fancy rectangular outline, with allover foliate engraving, scallop corners.
The inside of the box is beautifully clean with original mercurial gilding and clearly hall marked to both the lid and body.
The box is in near perfect condition with rubbing to the original dedication, which reads; ‘Presented to : Mr Edward Morgan by the Managers of the Merthyr Tydfil Savings Bank for his gratuitous services as Actuary’
The maker : Nathaniel Mills was by reputation one of the finest box makers of his time.
